Do you eat like crap?

So how’s your diet?

Ok, first off, I hate the term diet, but I knew it would get your attention.

So…what’s your answer?

Are you on a specific eating plan?

Do you have a nutritional system in place?

Or are you like most people who “wing” it?

Most people “know” the basics of good nutrition. They “know” what food is good for them. They “know” what food they should be eating. They “know” what foods they should avoid.

So why are people getting bigger and fatter? Why is obesity becoming a bigger and bigger problem if everyone “knows” nutrition?

The answer, my friends, is quite simple.

It’s not the knowledge that’s lacking, it’s the application of that knowledge. It’s great to have all this information available at your fingertips.

If you have a question about nutrition, you can just type your search term in to google and in a few moments, you’ll have pages and pages of information at your disposal.

But these searches won’t usually give you the answers to those fundament and burning questions deep within you.

Tell me, have you ever wondered which diet is the best one? Which one will lead to the greatest weight loss? Which one will slim you down or give you washboard abs?

Most importantly, which one you can stay on perpetually without starving yourself?

What if I told you I know of a system that can do all that and more?

And what if I told you it’s quite simple to implement?

Would you be interested?

Would you want to know more?

Would you be willing to face your fear of success, or challenge your fear of failure?

You’ve got nothing to lose.

The death of cardio?

When it comes to the best way to lose weight and/or get fit using cardio, the debate rages on.

Which is better- high intensity interval training (HIIT) or steady state cardio (long duration, slow pace)?

Outside of the all important nutrition side of things, the answer may surprise you.

For most people, HIIT, if done correctly, will lead to greater weight loss when compared to steady state cardio, even if the total time is significantly less.

How does that happen?

It goes back to basic exercise physiology: EPOC or Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption.

HIIT training increases EPOC much more than steady state cardio does. That means your body has to work extra hard AFTER you are done your exercise to replace the oxygen debt created during the exercise.

Your body now acts like a furnace for hours post-exercise and will use body fat as fuel.

The added bonus: HIIT can be done in a fraction of the time it takes to do steady state cardio!

Isn’t that what we’re all looking for-better results in less time?

Common Female Training Myths-Exposed!

What do most women hope for when starting a new fitness program?

The ultimate goal for the majority of female clients I’ve had the pleasure of working with was to lose weight and inches!

10 lbs. 15 lbs. Even 30 lbs or more.

The underlying motivation is usually to fit into their favorite pair of jeans, which now hides in the back of their closet. Or they need to make that grand entrance at a wedding or fancy gala.

Who doesn’t want to look stunning as they walk down the aisle, with all those eyes on them?

Perhaps it’s reunion season. Ten or twenty years can sure take its toll!

Many times an upcoming tropical vacation invokes instant panic and a deep sense of shame and disgust at the thought of wearing a bikini or another similarly revealing outfit on the beach.

A sudden realization of past fitness and nutritional transgressions surges to the forefront: “is it too late to look good?”

Sound familiar?

Unfortunately, I’ve seen too many women on a crash course toward exercise failure before they even begin their new program.

How is that possible you ask?

These women are the same ones who have read articles in every major women’s fitness magazine and have large networks of friends who are in the same boat.

They’ve hired personal trainers and joined every possible type of gym out there. They’ve circuit trained and ab-crunched until they were red in the face- and the pocketbook!

Some even compromised their health with starvation for that elusive Holy Grail: weight loss.

All these women have one thing in common. After all that wasted time, money and effort, they still haven’t achieved what they were looking for.

Ask yourself: “Am I one of them?”

Follow along in this series of posts as I outline some of the biggest myths that affect women in their search for their ultimate body.
